Tom Berman has been named central region editor for The Associated Press in Chicago, overseeing coverage across the Midwest region, including 14 states from Texas to the Midwest. He replaces David Scott, now politics editor for AP in Washington. Berman most recently served as deputy Central editor since May 2014. Also moving to Chicago is Cara Rubinsky who now serves as assistant central region editor. Replacing her is Bill Kole, who is now New England news editor in Boston.
