Associated Press announced a variety of staff updates including Peter Leonard‘s role change to correspondent based in Kiev, Ukraine following a stint as news cooperative’s Central Asia in Kazakhstan from 2007 to 2013. Maud Beelman has been named news editor for the central region of Associated Press, overseeing Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. She previously worked as deputy managing editor for investigations/projects at Dallas Morning News. Lastly, Vivian Salama has been named Iraq bureau chief after most recently serving as a freelance journalist covering the Middle East.
