
Shelley Acoca will join the Associated Press as the East Coast entertainment and lifestyle editor in August 2014. Acoca will replace Lisa Tolin, who joined NBCNews.com as senior health editor in December 2013. Acoca previously served as senior editor for Fox News Magazine since November 2013. She had also served as deputy digital editor for Newsday Westchester from May 2012 to July 2013. Additionally, Acoca held several positions at The Miami Herald from 2000 through 2009 including senior online editor, reader exchange editor, features editor, and assistant city editor.

Also at the AP, John Milburn has left to serve as communication director for Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback. Milburn was a statehouse reporter for AP in Topeka, Kansas since 2001.
